Description of Services
Inpatient, Specialist, Maori and Community mental health services are provided from a number of  locations in Wellington and Porirua areas. Service Coordination and a wide range of assessment, crisis, treatment, consult / liaison and training services are delivered to consumers in the Wellington and Porirua area, Greater Wellington (including Hutt Valley) and throughout the Central region.
 
Inpatient Services
Intensive Care, Acute, Rehabilitation, and Forensic inpatient services are delivered from units at Porirua and Wellington. These services are utilised mainly by consumers in the Wellington/Porirua area but are also contracted to accept referrals from HHSs throughout the Central Health region.

Community based services
Local services to the Wellington/Porirua areas and Greater Wellington (Hutt Valley, Kapiti):
-Crisis Intervention (CATT)
-Adult CMHT
-Alcohol and Drug (CADS)
-Child, Adolescent and Family
-Maori Mental Health

Specialist Community Mental Health Services to the Wellington/Porirua, Greater Wellington and Central Health region HHSs:
-Early Intervention
-Dual Diagnosis (alcohol and drug and psychiatric disorder)
-Dual Diagnosis (intellectual disability and psychiatric disorder)
-Maternal Mental Health
-Personality Psychotherapy Services
-Opioid substitution
-Psychiatric Liaison

Provision of Services
Capital Coast Mental Health (CCMH) provides specialist secondary and tertiary mental health services for adults, children, adolescents, and families, who
-are acutely unwell or in crisis
-have severe ongoing or recurring mental illness and disability support needs
-have severe ongoing or recurring illness without significant disability support needs
-have severe illness which is not episodic/recurring in nature or likely to require long term support
-have ongoing moderate mental illness, which would benefit from specialist mental health supervision
-have complex alcohol & drug problems including those who need Opioid substitution

Included in this range of services is the Specialist Maori Mental Health Service that has a focus inclusive of child, adolescent and family, adult and day programs.

It should be noted that CCMH is not funded to provide housing or social services, which impacts in terms of the social and economic condition of individuals within community care.
